Peacock symbolism commonly deals with the impressively fanning out of the male peacock's tail feathers. The bright blue of his body is equally impressive.

Ideas of nobility and royalty come from Chinese symbolism as in this culture the peacock represents high status. Peacock feathers have been given to recognize outstanding service & honourable rank in military office.

The peacock also symbolizes the expansive consciousness in Buddhism. In Buddhism the bird represents the all-compassionate goddess Kuan-Yin.
