All of life is affected by the moons energies mostly at night life. 

Ocean tides rise and fall to the phases of the moon and mushrooms even sweat. 

The moon always looks as like it is constantly changing, this reminds of the fluidity and inconsistency of life. The moon is also symbolic of the never ending circle of nature of time and karma.
Karma is a circle that reminds us what goes around comes around. 

The moon symbolizes feminine power and fertility. Many mythological goddesses are associated with the moon this conveys their hidden power, secret wisdom and soft influences.

Men also feel the energy of the moon, Japanese, Maori, African even Native American tribes that give the moon a male gender. The moon influences hunting cultures, in these cultures male deities and lunar gods are prevalent.

Alchemical: The moon coincides with the qualities of silver which is a purifying, clarifying energy it is reflective and strong, yet pliable.

Archetypal: The moon represents the goddess, mother, lover, priestess.

Taoism: The moon is yin, and is symbolic of a spiritual and enlightened nature.

Egyptian: The moon is associated with Isis, who is also called the Queen of the Heavens.

Native American: There are legends of the Great Woman beaming in the moon eternally always watching over her children and creation knowingly.

Totemic: The moon calls to many animals. Animals that have horns are associated with the moon, for example  big horn sheep as their circular crescent shaped horns are reflective of the crescent moon, and symbolic of cycles and fertility.

Most nocturnal (night living) creatures are moon associated too.

Animals such as Rabbits, toads, cats, bats, spiders,  all mate with moon energies.

  2. Ive really been wanting a cresent moon tattoo for a while now and I wanted to make there weren't any weird meanings behind is before I got it on my body and this article just made up my mind. thank you<3
